FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does Kinard’s Creations offer?
Kinard’s Creations provides DTF transfers, DTF gang sheets, UV DTF transfers, UV DTF gang sheets, single transfers, and custom printing services for creators, small businesses, apparel brands, and personal projects.
2. What is a DTF transfer?
DTF stands for Direct-to-Film. Your design is printed onto a special film and then applied to fabric using a heat press. DTF transfers are a great option for T-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, and many other fabric products.
3. What is UV DTF?
UV DTF is designed for hard surfaces instead of fabric. It works well on items such as tumblers, cups, glass, acrylic, plastic, and other smooth surfaces. UV DTF transfers are applied without a heat press.
4. What is a gang sheet?
A gang sheet allows you to place multiple designs on one larger sheet. This is a cost-effective option for businesses, crafters, and customers who need several transfers at the same time.
5. Can I order individual DTF transfers?
Yes. We offer DTF Single Transfers in several popular sizes, making it easy to order individual designs without purchasing a full gang sheet.
6. Can I upload my own artwork?
Yes. Customers can upload their own artwork when ordering eligible custom transfer products. For the best print quality, we recommend submitting a high-resolution file with a transparent background whenever possible.
7. What file format should I use?
A high-quality PNG with a transparent background is generally recommended for DTF printing. Your artwork should be created at or close to the final print size and should have clean edges and good resolution.
8. Will you remove the background from my artwork?
Artwork should ideally be submitted ready to print with the unwanted background already removed. If your artwork needs editing or cleanup, contact us before ordering to determine what options are available.
9. Do I need to mirror my DTF artwork?
No. Unless specifically instructed otherwise, submit your design in its normal orientation. The production process will handle what is required for printing and application.
10. What size transfer should I order?
The best size depends on the garment and placement. Smaller designs are typically used for pocket or youth placements, while larger sizes work well for full-front or full-back adult apparel.
If you're unsure, contact us before ordering and we can help you choose an appropriate size.
11. How do I apply DTF transfers?
DTF transfers require a heat press with the correct temperature, pressure, and pressing time. Always follow the pressing instructions provided for your transfer because settings can vary depending on the garment and material.
12. How do I apply UV DTF transfers?
UV DTF transfers are designed for smooth, clean hard surfaces. Clean and dry the surface, position the transfer carefully, apply firm pressure, and remove the carrier film according to the application instructions.
UV DTF is not intended for fabric or heat-press application.
13. Can I use DTF transfers on different fabric colors?
Yes. DTF transfers can generally be used on both light and dark garments, making them a versatile option for many types of apparel.
